FAQ

  • What is latex made of?
Latex is a natural rubber material that is extracted from the sap of the rubber tree. It is then processed and treated to create the smooth, glossy material that is used to make clothing and other products.
  • How should I care for my latex garments?
Latex garments should be stored away from heat and light to prevent discoloration. To clean them, use our special soaps or a dish soap and hot water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the latex.
  • Is latex safe to wear?
Latex is generally considered safe to wear, but some people may have allergic reactions to it. If you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, it is recommended that you patch test a small area of your skin before wearing a full latex garment.
  • Can latex be worn in the summer?
Latex is a non-breathable material, so it can be hot and uncomfortable to wear in warm weather. If you do choose to wear latex in the summer, be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in a cooler environment to avoid overheating. Constant exposure to the sun can bleach and lighten the color of your garment over time.
  • Can latex be worn in the water?
Latex is waterproof, so it is great to wear it in the water. If you do get your latex garment wet, dry it off with a fan or gently pat it dry and store it away from heat and light to prevent damage. Leaving water on your latex can create water marks which can be removed if you just wash it with warm water and soap.
  • How do I get into a latex garment?
Latex garments can be difficult to put on, especially since they are tight-fitting. To make it easier, you can use a silicone-based lubricant or body powder to help the garment slide on more easily. Be sure to avoid using water-based products, as these can degrade the latex. If you have acrylic nails you run the risk of puncturing your latex when putting it on. We offer cloth gloves which will help prevent finger nail punctures but they are not needed.
  • Can latex be repaired if it gets damaged?
Small tears or cuts in latex can often be repaired with our latex repair kit, we also offer a repair service for a fee. Larger holes or extensive damage may not be repairable and the garment may need to be replaced. To inquire about the condition, please send us proper well lit and clear photos with your order number.
  • Can latex be dyed?
Latex can be dyed or discolored when exposed to any metal materials other than stainless steel. If you want to dye it with pigment to change the color, it will not work and will cause a patchy discolored effect that cannot be repaired.
  • How should I store my latex garments?
Latex garments should be stored away from heat and light in a cool, dry place. It is also recommended to store them in a garment bag or wrapped in tissue paper with any starch free powder to prevent them from sticking together or becoming damaged. Latex wrinkles very easily so we recommend hanging it up with a nice hanger and a dark blackout cloth garment bag.
  • How long will a latex garment last?
With proper care, a latex garment can last for many years. However, latex is a delicate material and can be prone to tearing or degrading if it is not handled and stored carefully. Regular cleaning and proper storage can help extend the life of your latex garments.
